Sugared Pecans

Preheat oven to 325°.

Melt butter and pour onto a cookie sheet with low sides.

Beat egg whites until stiff and gradually add sugar to make a meringue.

Pour nuts into meringue and spread this meringue/nut mixture onto the buttered cookie sheet.

Bake in oven for 30 minutes, but turn nuts over every 10 minutes during this time.

When done, sprinkle nuts with salt, cinnamon and chili powder to taste.
